This is a recreation of the classic arcade game Marble Madness with a new spin.
As the first collaborative project at Carnegie Mellon’s National High School Game Academy, my team themed the game around various art movements, where it would become more abstract from level to level. I created shaders that pixelated and cel-shaded the rendered game to give it the appearance of an oil painting, as well as 3D models and textures themed after Cezanne’s Post-Impressionist still lifes.
In addition, I made a script that gradually changes the lighting at different times to imitate the series of Monet that depict the transience of nature.
